Build around the FreeFile features available today.

Start with the API

The current API offers a public connectivity check and an authenticated greeting. It does not yet expose file listing, upload, deletion, or vault management. Use the website for these operations.

Manage your key

Sign in and open Account API to generate, regenerate, or revoke a key. New keys are displayed once and expire after 30 days. Store keys on your server and send them in the API-KEY header. Keep them out of browser scripts, URLs, public repositories, and screenshots.

Share and embed

Use the links and embed options provided on FreeFile file pages. Access remains subject to the file’s vault settings. Temporary delivery URLs expire; use the share page link when linking to a file.

Handle failures clearly

Check the HTTP status before using a response. A 401 response means the key is missing, invalid, revoked, or expired. If requests are limited or the service is unavailable, wait before retrying. For an integration problem, contact support with the endpoint, status code, and time of the request, leaving out your key.
